Jimbo’s CV Audit
Unmasking James Robert Goldberg’s Curriculum Vitae
We’ve carefully studied and fact-checked Mr. Goldberg’s Curriculum Vitae, only to uncover massive deception. Here are some of the findings, comparing Mr. Goldberg’s claims vs. what we’ve uncovered.
Simply toggle the + at the right of each statement from Jimbo’s CV to reveal the truth.

Photo: James Robert Goldberg, aka Jimbo, aka James Venture Goldberg, aka JR Gold, aka Jimbo the Fabulist, circa 1990s
Goldberg: “Senior level executive with deep experience.”
Goldberg: “Worked multiple projects with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory”
Goldberg: “I was a principal partner in PA Consulting Group”
Goldberg: “I worked with many projects with MIT, Columbia University, and Johnson & Johnson”
Goldberg: “I founded Maximus Medical Inc. which provides medical services to hospitals and large private practices focusing mostly on placing doctors with deep sub specialties in appropriate contractual or locums tenens setting.”
Fact: Public records for Maximus Medical indicate one founder/principal: the MD who is Mr. Goldberg’s sole source of money. Furthermore, it appears that Maximus Medical has been dissolved. Maximus Medical only placed a single doctor in locums tenens settings: the same MD who is Mr. Goldberg’s sole source of money.
Goldberg: “I was the Founder and Managing Director of Theta Resources, an international technology consultancy working with Abbott, Pfizer, Lilly, Baxter, BMS, Johnson & Johnson…”
Goldberg: “Founder and EVP of SmartAnalyst”
Goldberg: “Principal of Cambridge England based Scientific Generics Inc.”
Goldberg: “Principal of Stanford Research Institute”
“I have been an advisor to the U.S. Senate regarding healthcare matters since 2006. This springs from my book and my investigative writing, which can be viewed on [my website]."
The website mentioned on Mr. Goldberg’s CV appears to be defunct. A search of the Internet Archive brings up nothing to substantiate this claim by Mr. Goldberg.
Furthermore, Mr. Goldberg’s claim that his advisory role since 2006 springs from his self-published book seems sketchy since it was not published until 2009.
Goldberg: “Principal for Nextera Interactive, San Francisco based technology firm.”
Goldberg: "Attended Sorbonne University, France."
Goldberg: “Attended University of Mainz, Germany, graduating with two Ph.D. degrees.”
Goldberg: “Attended University of Madrid, Spain.”
Goldberg: “My partner and wife is a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist."
Fact: Public records show that Jimbo’s MD benefactor — the individual he continually and falsely refers to as his “wife and partner” — divorced her husband over 15 years ago and never re-married, particularly not to Jimbo.
Goldberg: “I am an amateur sommelier.”
Fact: It is a well-known fact that Mr. Goldberg is a “serious alcoholic” (according to his MD and others who know him well), so he’s had a lot of practice at being a sommelier for multiple brief moments before consuming the wine and having to recommit to being a steward of his next wine. This seems to have been a miserable failure, but a rare instance of Mr. Goldberg admitting to being an amateur at anything. Salut!
Goldberg: “I am a trained singer, bass-baritone.”
An acquaintance reports that Mr. Goldberg “…is prone to sudden outbursts of poorly performed opera under the candelabra, the ice cubes clanking as he sips his aperitif in between tortured notes while the dogs run away and hide.”
Furthermore, a patron at a local craft brewery called Rumor, near where Jimbo used to live, described it this way: “A large intoxicated old man showed up dressed in a loud Liberace outfit and volunteered to do an impromptu performance. The fact that his friends waited outside with the dogs was telling. He belted out this horrible screaming sound similar to when the timing chain broke in our old Chevy, except that his went on for what seemed like eternity! The looks on the faces there echoed a common huge relief when this was finally over.”
Goldberg: “I have actively managed investment portfolios for my family.”
Fact: Mr. Goldberg’s stewardship of his family’s estate resulted in him allegedly stealing his brother Steven’s inheritance from the same family estate.
Our information indicates that Goldberg has no money, but instead lives off of the back of his roommate MD’s earnings from locum tenens work — and from what we can see, controlling her money and spending it as if it were his own.
Mr. Goldberg appears to “earn” his money by taking/stealing from others, without any regard for anyone but himself.
Goldberg: "I have one son who died at the age of 23."
Fact: For any parent, losing a child is devastating. However, we have discovered that Mr. Goldberg owes a considerable sum of money for child support payments for his only son, for which the State of California garnishes his only real source of income: his monthly Social Security check.
Mr. Goldberg’s passport was revoked by the State of California for the same reason, prompting Mr. Goldberg to attempt to move the jurisdiction for this matter to New Mexico. Court records show that a judge in NM dismissed the case and told Mr. Goldberg to pay his child support.
We find it ironic and interesting that Mr. Goldberg on the one hand expresses an understandable grief at the loss of his son, and on the other hand, fails to pay the child support for many years for this same son.
Furthermore, we’ve noted that Jimbo wrote a book about the American Medical Money Machine, which seems to be his way of attempting to profit off his son’s death and the public’s empathy about it.
